Domestic Violence Awareness

Since the beginning, the women of Alpha Chi Omega have demonstrated their generosity, their compassion and their commitment to the greater good. In 1992, Alpha Chi Omega voted to make domestic violence our national philanthropy. Our work is awareness, prevention, education, and assistance to victims and their children.

Beta Kappa Beta locally supports the Genesis Women’s Shelter through fundraising and volunteer activities. Due to our commitment to eliminating domestic violence, the Genesis Women's Shelter honored Alpha Chi Omega with their prestigious Jane Doe Award — an award we share with past recipients such as Mary Kay, Laura Bush, Queen Noor of Jordan, and the Dallas Junior League. Please visit the Genesis Women’s Shelter website for more information on their efforts to end this epidemic www.genesisshelter.org.

Additionally, along with the SMU collegiate chapter, we host Alpha Chi Couture, a fashion show and silent auction fundraiser, donating over      $1 million to date. Alpha Chi Couture supports the Genesis Women's Shelter, One Love Foundation and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.

Founded to honor the memory of Yeardley Love, One Love works with young people across the country to raise awareness about the warning signs of abuse and activates communities to work to change the statistics around relationship violence.

Alpha Chi Omega Foundation supports the educational and philanthropic purposes of Alpha Chi Omega through effective fundraising and stewardship of financial resources. The Foundation assists Alpha Chi Couture in ensuring that funds raised to the most possible good for those in need nationwide.
